Identify the optimal positioning of all the solar PV equipment.

• SANS 60364-7-712:2018 Ed. 2 – Low Voltage Electrical Installations
• NRS 097-2-1:2017 Ed. 2 Grid Interconnection of Embedded Generation – Utility Interface and NRS 097-2-3:2014 Ed. 1 – Simplified utility connection criteria for low-voltage connected generators
• SANS 62109-1:2012 Ed.1 – Safety of power converters for use in photovoltaic power systems
• SANS 60947-3:2012 Edition 3.1 and IEC corr. 1 – Low-voltage switchgear and control gear i.e. Switches, disconnectors, switch disconnectors and fuse-combination units
• SANS 60269-6:2011 Edition 1 and IEC corr.1 – Low-voltage fuses i.e. Supplementary requirements for fuse-links for the protection of solar photovoltaic energy systems
• SANS 10292:2013 Edition 2 – Earthing of low-voltage (LV) distribution systems
• SANS 10199:2016 Edition 2.2 – The design and installation of earth electrodes
• SANS 1973-8:2017 Edition 1.1 – Low-voltage switchgear and control gear ASSEMBLIES ie Safety of minimally tested ASSEMBLIES (MTA) with a rated short-circuit current above 10 kA and a rated busbar current of up to and including 1 600 A AC and DC.
• SANS 1973-3:2017 Edition 1.1 – Low-voltage switchgear and control gear ASSEMBLIES i.e. Safety of ASSEMBLIES with a rated prospective short-circuit current of up to and including 10 kA
• SANS 1973-1:2017 Edition 1.1 – Low-voltage switchgear and control gear ASSEMBLIES i.e. Type-tested ASSEMBLIES with stated deviations and a rated short-circuit withstand strength above 10 kA

OTHER IMPORTANT POINTS PERTAINING TO SECTION 6

1. Ensure that the STD and Renewable Energy circuits with their respective neutrals are separated so as to avoid paralleling of sources.
2. Before connecting the PV Array check the Inverters requirements with regards to the MPPT’s input voltage requirements and how many MPPT inputs it offers.
3. Check what voltage does the inverter support? If Pylontech batteries are used then using a raspberry pi management software system needs to be considered to avoid the shutdown of the PV Array function in the inverter once the batteries are fully charged.
4. All AC, DC and Communication Cables need to be kept separate i.e. in their insulated and respective wire ways. Should this not be the case it will not comply to the SANS 10142-1:2017 Ed.2 sections 6.1.10 and 6.4.1 b) resulting capacitive coupling effects which generate harmonics that stress the equipment insulation.
5. All connections made between the PV Array’s and the Inverter need to assembled through a combiner box which hosts all the relevant string protection against surges and isolation in compliance with SANS 60364-7-712:2018 Ed. 2
6. All installations must be done by a qualified electrician and CoC (Certificate of Conformance) must be supplied upon request if need be.

Failure to adhere to any and or all of the above stated in SECTION 6 will render the warranty of the products null and void.

SECTION 7 – ACCURACY OF BILLING AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION

We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the e‑mail and/or billing address/phone number provided at the time the order was made. We reserve the right to limit or prohibit orders that, in our sole judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, resellers or distributors.
